If an employee dies due to an occupational injury or occupational disease, the insurance will pay a lump sum of 50% of national insurance (Norwegian Only) to cover funeral costs. If you leave spouse, registered partner, cohabitant (samboer/ektefelle) and children (barn) who were fully or partially supported by you, there will be paid a lump sum to them as well. The compensations are tax-free.

The death benefit is 50% of the National Insurance basic amount. You can find this in the top line of the table on the left.
If you leave behind a spouse or cohabitant, an additional benefit will be paid to them. This amount is also shown in the table on the left and depends on your age at the time of death
The children's compensation is shown in the table on the right. As you can see, the amount of compensation depends on the age of the child or children. If you have more than one child, the amounts are added together and divided equally among all children.
